I recently worked with a client on their employee handbook โ€“ 70 pages of doโ€™s and donโ€™ts designed to protect the company โ€“ how many of their employees do you think read such a tome of rules and regs?

After discussion, those 70 pages were reduced to 1 (yes ONE) page of core behaviours and expectations of both employer and employee (jargon free, readable and quickly understandable, much more approachable, and isnโ€™t all about what NOT to do), and a handful of requested policies โ€“ Dignity at Work, Grievance, Disciplinary and Privacy/GDPR (total page count โ€“ 11).
