I recently worked with a client on their employee handbook โ 70 pages of doโs and donโts designed to protect the company โ how many of their employees do you think read such a tome of rules and regs?
After discussion, those 70 pages were reduced to 1 (yes ONE) page of core behaviours and expectations of both employer and employee (jargon free, readable and quickly understandable, much more approachable, and isnโt all about what NOT to do), and a handful of requested policies โ Dignity at Work, Grievance, Disciplinary and Privacy/GDPR (total page count โ 11).
